Watch or read Lorna’s story below.
Lorna began tube feeding in her final year of University at age 21 after noticing pain when eating, a loss of her appetite and she began to notice she was struggling with certain foods.
Lorna is now 24 and has been tube fed for 3 years. She describes that when she first got her tube she noticed improvements very quickly and that tube feeding has improved her health.
Only 2 weeks after she began tube feeding, Lorna attended the House of Lords to accept a national award on social mobility for the work she had completed whilst at University.
A month after this, she went straight into her first graduate job, and this is where she still works today!
Lorna enjoys adding decorative elements such coloured tapes to her pump and stand to make it more personalised. She feels that this is something that made her feel a lot more confident in herself having added a personal element to her tube feeding equipment.
Lorna shares that she stays positive because she has lots of things that she loves in her life, such as her husband, hobbies and job. She has learned to take things one step at a time and to try and find a bit of positivity out of everything.
