What do you like to do in your free time?

Spending time with friends and family. I’m currently attempting to write a novel. I also love reading & watching history-based programmes.

When did you start tube feeding?

December 2014

How do you feel about tube feeding?

It’s a necessary evil I’m afraid but I am very grateful for the technology.

Has your opinion of tube feeding changed since the start?

It’s a nuisance at times but that quickly passes.

What do you think of the Nutricia Homeward service?

After initial problems with the new system things have improved and everything running smoothly now.

What would you say to someone who has just been told they need tube feeding? Would you give them any advice or tips?

Hang on in there. There’ll be times when you get frustrated with all the rigmarole, but you’ll get through it. You have to of course.

Spread your feeds evenly through the day if you can, I’ve found this helps with digestion.

Also get into a similar rhythm with any medication you need.

Finally, keep your tubes clean and your button point clean and do a 360 degree turn everyday.

Good luck and I hope you get a Homeward Nurse as good as the one I’ve got
